3 Minutes--Your chance to foster change!
What is it about?
I am helping The American Legion write Legislation to make a vital change in our education system. What change?
With our economy, so many of us are returning to college-- we have to in order to be competitive.
The HUGE problem is that a majority of us get our transcripts and walk into those "great halls of education" only to discover that they can willy-nilly disallow everything we have already done.
That is criminal. Just because this has been happening since the dawn of time doesn't mean it can't be changed. It doesn't mean that it is okay, in fact, with our economy the way it is our dollar has to mean much more.
I am spending my retirement taking classes I have already taken while in the military---because colleges are ALLOWED to discredit military transcripts.
Of course if you are okay with our tax dollars spent on education only to have colleges and universities refuse to give us the credits we have earned...I need to understand why that is okay---because it isn't okay with me.
I fought and protected my country--and earned a valuable education--one that should be recognized by all the colleges and universities in America.

This is NOT spam, but a cause that I feel strongly about and I am helping The American Legion write legislation to help bring about these changes.
Often we feel as thought we can do little more than whine about the things that should be changed. Here is a real opportunity to actually DO something.
These changes really will affect more Americans than you may realize and it will take less than 3 minutes of your time---a vital 3 minutes for every Veteran and ANY American that demands they keep what they have earned--and refuse to allow colleges or universities to continue to abuse us and the education we have earned

Link America to Real Education!
I did it Cheeky! I feel your pain girlfriend. Many of us have had this happen to them. Colleges have WAY too much power to *uck with our lives. More people need to think about the fact that it is already ridiculous so it is just gonna get worse if some guidelines and accountability isn't built.
More importantly with so many of us choosing the online schools to get education that these halls of learning should be worried because why go and sit in a crappy classroom with grumpy teachers if you can do school anywhere on a laptop? They should be worried that they may be out of business in a few years.
Thanks Whimsey. It may seem small but it is HUGE. Today in sociology I asked about the social impact of so many returning to college and then faced with prior education credits being refused as a transfer to another facility. I think my teacher was not happy with my question because the next question from another classmate was whether HER class would transfer. This teacher visibly squirmed and then finally admitted she had no idea, that it was out of her hands, and that WE had to do something about it or it will never change.
